In 2022, Casa Macaúba received an honorable mention in the international Golden Trezzini Awards, which focuses on the theme of Architecture as Art.

This house represents the convergence where architecture, art, and nature find respectful ways to intersect. In this project, the mountains and native vegetation served as a significant source of inspiration, much like nature was to classical artists. In other words, the concept of this house stemmed from the environment it inhabits, with the goal of minimizing its impact on the land and native trees.

The vegetation was intimately connected to the house by constructing slabs that embrace the surrounding trees while horizontally integrating the indoor and outdoor areas. This approach created unique spaces for contemplation, avoiding noise and barriers within the local landscape.

To achieve the ecological and preservation potential that was required, several solutions were developed, including the use of locally sourced materials, a water collection and storage system, solar energy, and the total preservation of the native forest.

In this way, Casa Macaúba and its surroundings will continue to evolve, grow, and live together in harmony. Within this residence, a simple stroll through its spaces frames the natural spectacle that the region offers.
