We are Makaíba Estúdio, an architecture studio based in Belo Horizonte with a global reach. Our goal is to create projects that seamlessly integrate the built environment with the natural landscape, valuing formal simplicity while dedicating meticulous attention to details, materials, and finishes.

We believe that architecture should enhance quality of life by combining comfort and functionality while also increasing the value of a property, setting it apart from repetition and conventional market trends. Each project is a precise response to the land, exploring its potential and integrating naturally into the surrounding landscape.
We approach each project with a deep understanding of its unique characteristics, developing tailored solutions that engage our clients at every stage of the process. Our work encompasses everything from site analysis and mapping to construction execution, ensuring a complete and meaningful experience.

We employ cutting-edge technologies to analyze factors such as sunlight exposure, ventilation, earth movement, and urban context, developing solutions that harmonize the built space with the surrounding nature while maximizing the site’s unique features.
Our name is a tribute to the Macaúba palm, a distinctly Brazilian tree found throughout the national territory. Depending on the region, it may be known as coco-de-espinho, mucajá, or bocaiuva, but before all these names, its original name was Tupi: ma’ kaí’ ba.

How we
work
process
We have adopted the studio format (rather than a traditional office) because we take on a limited number of new clients each year, ensuring that every project receives the immersion, inventiveness, and dedicated creative attention it deserves. Our commitment is to deliver unique, personalized solutions that reflect each client’s identity and aspirations.
